Polk County's nine 911 dispatchers dispatch and handle emergency and non-emergency telephone calls for the local law enforcement, fire and ambulance agencies that serve our county which include 5 ambulance services, 13 fire departments (first responders) and 4 police departments (full and part-time). Along with answering calls for service they are also responsible for monitoring the security for the juvenile detention center.
In 2015 they dispatched over 66,500 calls for service. Of those, 28,250 were 911 calls.
