Notary Commission Registration
To become a Notary Public in Minnesota you must apply to the https://notary.sos.state.mn.us/ , Division of Enforcement Licensing (952-296-6319).
The Minnesota Department of Commerce will issue a Notary Commission card. This card must be registered with your resident Minnesota county, in person or by mail.
When you register with the county, please bring:
- Notary Commission card from The Minnesota Department of Commerce.
- Government issued picture ID.
- $20 fee.
When mailing your notary, please mail:
- Notary Commission card from The Minnesota Department of Commerce.
- Your signature, as it appears on your commission card, on a separate piece of paper.
- $20 check or money order made payable to Polk County Recorder.
- Polk County Recorder, PO Box 397, Crookston, MN 56716.
The same application can be used to change your name on your Notary Commission card. The new card would need to be registered with the same county in Minnesota in which you originally registered. The $20 fee is required each time you file. |
