Watercraft (boats, jet skis, canoes, etc)
To obtain a watercraft license and registration, the owner must provide:
- Watercraft make
- Watercraft model
- Watercraft year
- Watercraft serial number (Hull number)
- Hull material
- Watercraft length
- Motor size
- Applicants driver’s license
- Signed bill of sale from owner.
To transfer a watercraft, the transfer must be executed on a Minnesota or foreign state title.
A watercraft license is valid for three (3) years.

ATV’s
(ATV-1) All-terrain vehicles (ATVs) are motorized flotation-tired vehicles with 3 to 6 low pressure tires, an engine displacement of less than 800 cubic centimeters and a total dry weight of less than 900 pounds.
(ATV-2) All-terrain vehicles (ATVs) are motorized flotation-tired vehicles with 3 to 6 low pressure tires, an engine displacement of less than 800 cubic centimeters and a total dry weight of 900-1500 pounds.
To obtain an ATV license and registration, the owner must provide:
- ATV Make
- ATV Model
- ATV Year
- ATV Serial Number
- ATV Engine Size
- ATV dry weight
- Applicants driver’s license
- Signed bill of sale from owner
An ATV license is valid for three years.
