  • Detecting things in the environment that pose a risk to human health
  • Investigation and follow up regarding reports of public health nuisance in which the health of the public is at risk or in danger

Answering questions from the public and making referrals to existing resources

Healthy Homes Program

Polk-Norman-Mahnomen Community Health Services (Polk County Public Health and Norman-Mahnomen Public Health) is now accepting referrals for Healthy Homes Assessment and Environmental Intervention services. This service is provided free of charge for residents of Polk, Norman or Mahnomen County.

  • The healthy homes approach uses well-documented, evidence-based interventions to address housing-related health hazards.
  • Healthier homes will directly result in healthier people, leading to lower health care costs and more vibrant communities.
  • Every person and every organization has a role to play, small or large.
