Within the Polk County registrar's office, marriage certificates can be obtained for anyone who applied for their marriage license within Polk County only from 1875 to present. To search for a marriage license and certificate within Minnesota, visit Minnesota Official Marriage System (MOMS).

No Proof of Tangible Interest

Certificates may be obtained by mail or in person, and can be certified or non-certified. You do not need to show proof of tangible interest in the subject to receive a certified marriage certificate.

Fees

Certified and Non-Certified copies are $9 a piece.

Processing Times

  • By mail, applications are usually processed the same day as they are received so it only takes the mailing time to receive the certificate.
  • In person, applications take only a few minutes to complete and process.
